Rip Micheals is one of the industry’s most versatile and sought after comedian. Equipped with an infectious personality, Rip is currently captivating the audience in his new comedy special on Kevin Hart Presents Laughing Out Loud and as the host of MSG’s Network Cheapin’ it Real.
The Chicago-raised comedian gained notoriety for his in-your-face satire on MTV’s improv comedy show, Wild ‘N Out. After three seasons, his brash character prompted to starring in the spin-off, Wild ‘N On Tour. Wild ‘N Out only heightened Rip’s career, landing him a role as a commentator on Centric TV’s According to Him + Her, where he weighed in with his comedic perspective on dating, social skills and sex.

Rip’s comedic journey started at an early age, when he attended his grandmother’s funeral and found himself cracking everyone up by making jokes. But he never considered a career in comedy until a teacher encouraged him to be the class clown. Rip began performing in comedy clubs as a teenager, where he was thrilled to meet his icon Dave Chapelle, who strongly urged him to continue perfecting his craft. Following his college graduation, Rip moved to the Big Apple to
embark on his acting and comedy career. He rapidly solidified a loyal fan base and became the underground favorite comic throughout the city. The hard work Rip put into carving out a name for himself propelled his status as one of the NYC Kings of Comedy Superstar.
Before long, Rip was an in-demand performer honing his style by performing at over 150 military bases, and 250 colleges/universities. Encouraged by his early success, Rip taped his One Man Show at the Mohegan Sun in front of a sold out 10,000-arena. Coinciding with the show, Rip coined the word “Clatchet,” which has been inducted into the urban dictionary.

Rip has developed quite the resume with appearances in television such as Last Call With Carson Daly, Living With
Funny, Starz Staanndup, Comic View, P. Diddy’s Bad Boys of Comedy, Showtime at the Apollo, just to name a few. In addition to his comedy, his acting credits includes roles in Law & Order: Criminal Intent, Nurse Jackie, Mr. Robinson, Men In Black 3, Love Don’t Cost A Thing and Players Ball. Although, Rip got his start in show business as a standup comedian, he is also a writer. He has put his writing talent to work for Anthony Anderson, Cedric The Entertainer, Brandon T. Jackson, Nick Cannon and Johnny Depp. Additionally, he toured with the likes of Kevin Hart, Martin Lawrence and late comedian Bernie Mac.

Along with his TV and film appearances, Rip has several well deserved accolades under his belt: winner of 2013 Bay Area Black Comedy Competition, two-time Association for the Promotion of Campus Activities (APCA) Comedian of the Year, American Comic Awards – College Entertainer of the Year, USO and MWR Comedian of the Year in 2008, 2009 and 2011.
Rip’s outstanding career proves relentless work ethics and diligence go hand in hand in the comedic world. Rip Micheals continually pursues his creative endeavor and is currently executive producing a few projects of his own.
